Hiring a photo booth is the easy part. Getting every single one of your guests to use it and walk away absolutely delighted takes a little thought. After hundreds of events across Athens and Greece, here's what we know makes the difference.
The most important factor in how much your photo booth gets used is its placement. It should be clearly visible and positioned along a natural flow of guest movement not hidden in a corner or down a hallway. The best spots are near the bar or by the entrance to the main reception space, where guests naturally gather. If your venue is outdoors, avoid direct sunlight, as it can affect photo quality and make the experience less comfortable for guests.
For weddings, we recommend opening the booth during the cocktail hour or immediately after the first dances when the mood is high, the inhibitions are low, and guests are looking for something to do. Starting it too early (while guests are still arriving and settling) or too late (when people are tired) reduces usage significantly.
For corporate events, a good time to open is during the networking cocktail hour when guests are already circulating and in social mode.
Your photo booth attendant (that's us) will naturally guide and encourage guests but you can prime the pump. Ask a fun, outgoing friend or family member to be the first group to use the booth. As soon as guests see others laughing and getting their prints, the queue forms itself. It's social proof in action.
Our standard prop table covers all the classics hats, boas, glasses, signs, frames. But if your event has a theme, tell us in advance and we can customise the prop selection to match. Greek-language signs are popular at local weddings and always get a great reaction. Fewer, better props tend to work better than a massive pile that overwhelms guests.
After your event, you'll receive a digital gallery link with every photo taken. Decide in advance how you'll share this: a dedicated post on Instagram, an email to all guests, or a private shared album. The prints guests take home are wonderful, but the digital gallery is a memory that lasts far longer and it's a lovely thing to send to guests in the days after the event.
Make sure you use the booth yourself. As the host, your guests take their cue from you. If you're in there with your partner, your bridesmaids, or your team early in the evening, it signals that everyone is welcome and nothing is too silly. Some of the best prints we've ever produced featured the bride, the groom, and eight bridesmaids in matching tiaras and those are the photos that end up on walls.
